Portfolio 3.20 Release Notes

What's New in Portfolio 3.20

Excel Export / Import of Selection Rules

  • Selection Rules (Selection Constraints, Selection Dependencies, and Selection Groups) may now be exported to an Excel file. This will allow the user an easy starting point from which to make modifications before re-importing.
  • Selection Dependencies and Selection Groups may also now be imported to an overridden scenario, similar to the functionality with Selection Constraints.

Export Portfolio Selections to Planning Space Economics

  • From any Planning Space Economics Data Source, scenario selections may be exported back to Economics. This will trigger cloning of the source hierarchy with optional modifications including: shifting project start years, excluding unselected projects, and excluding projects unknown to Portfolio (were not included in original result set import).
  • This feature is limited to yearly portfolios. The "Export Scenario Selections" button will be disabled in monthly or quarterly portfolios.
  • This feature may be used with Economics 16.5 and 20.x.
  • Only integer selections will be sent to Economics. Cloning of individual projects and partial working interest scaling are not supported, but may be added in future for Economics 20x only. Currently, the export is limited to a single selection per opportunity. In the case of multiple selection instances, the first instance time shift (if any) will be applied. If selection value is <>1, a value of 1 will be sent. Both above cases will trigger a warning message in the Export log.

Data Sources Page Updated to Support Import of Data Source.

  • In addition to supporting data source copy from another portfolio, the user may export and import a data source in .json file format. This allows for sharing of data sources between portfolios regardless of access or Portfolio tenant.

Copy Data Source

  • The Data Sources page has been modified to support copying a data source from another Portfolio. While any type of data source may be copied, this feature is particularly helpful with Planning Space data sources. The fully configured mapping template and other configuration may be copied to save the time required to rebuild it.

Enhancements

  • Scenarios may be ordered as desired by the user using the "Display Order" button on the Scenarios List page. The specified order will also be automatically applied to the Selection Comparison tab.
  • Rearranged and reorganized Scenario menu tabs for better clarity and usability. Scenario Rules contain Selection Constraints, Dependencies, and Groups, and are separated from Scenario Data which contains opportunity metric data and Outcome Dependencies.
  • On the Portfolios landing page, new portfolios created or copied inside a collection are now added to that collection automatically.
  • Added a Total column to the left side of the Selection Grid, to allow the user to see total selections of an opportunity in all time periods.
  • Various internal components were upgraded to enhance application security.
  • Very large dashboards will no longer render automatically, reducing the time needed to open a Portfolio and move between pages. The user can use the "Refresh Results" button to manually render the dashboard if desired.
  • When using "Copy Selection Constraints From", scenarios will only be available if they have overridden Selection Constraints. Scenarios not overridden have been removed from the list to avoid confusion. To apply the same Selection Constraints as a non-overridden scenario, the user should simply reset to the Portfolio Selection Constraints.

Fixed Defects

  • Fixed an issue with the Dataflow Data Source where the document type was forgotten if any change was made in Dataflow between imports.
  • Fixed an error caused by opportunities newly imported after a scenario had overridden selection constraints and the opportunity was a selection group member.
  • Fixed a bug where the display order of scenarios did not render or save correctly with a large number of scenarios.
